How to use StudentVue and
Google Classroom

Narrated by Dr. Dimick from NNC

How to stay organized for distance learning

New Trimester starts November 2!

The end of the trimester is coming soon. Make sure you check your grades on StudentVue and ParentVue and make sure all your assignments are turned in. If you have missing assignments, email your teacher and ask which ones you can turn in late for credit.

As we approach the start of trimester two, evaluate your performance during trimester one.  What did you do well?  What needs improvement?  How can you improve your performance in school for trimester two?

Things to consider going into trimester two.
  • Set goals for improvement for the new trimester.  Evaluate how you can improve your performance as an individual.  Discuss your goals with your family.  Set a time each week to go over your progress and check your grades.
  • Where do you sit during school?  Do you use a table or desk?
  • Do you have a printed copy of the bell schedule?  It's important to know which class to go to and when on zoom.
  • Do you have access to StudentVue and ParentVue?  If you need to gain access, please email jwmsinfo@psusd.us to get your account unlocked.
  • Do you have headphones on during class to minimize distractions in your home?
  • Are you keeping track of your assignments in an agenda or in a spiral notebook?
  • Are you minimizing your distractions in your home?  Examples include tv, cell phones, ipads/etc.

Students will either receive an add code in their district email or they will receive the classroom code in Synergy (our online gradebook).  Once a student has joined a class they will be able to view the "Stream" for announcements, "Classwork" for assignments, "People" for the names of classmates and how to email their teacher with questions and "Grade" to see what they earned on their assignments in Google Classroom.

Students will use Google Drive to complete their assignments online.  Google Drive offers the following types of programs: Google Docs (like Microsoft Word), Google Sheets (like Microsoft Excel), Google Slides (like Microsoft Powerpoint). Files automatically save as the students are working.

StudentVue provides students a place to check their grades and receive announcements from their teachers.  Students can easily see if they have any missing assignments, due dates for assignments and much more.

ParentVue provides parents with a place to check student grades, check for missing assignments, receive announcements from teachers and much more. We do recommend making an appointment with your child once and week and viewing their progress online together.  Discuss where they are at and how they can improve their grades in necessary.
